Hi, I’m Lisa. Founder of KDH Media LLC and creator/designer for my blog Kombucha Drinkin Hippie.
On a search for purpose, health, and peace, I’ve studied and adopted holistic practices into my everyday life. My earlier years I earned a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts specializing in graphic design. With a strong passion for food I hopped into the restaurant industry, which consumed most of my life, until I became a mother. Struggling with anxiety and PPD I had a lot of struggles balancing the day and wondering if I would ever have energy again. My immune system was shot as I was falling Ill every other month with a different cold and constant allergies to then be diagnosed with EBV. If anyone has had mono they know the severe exhaustion that comes with it. I was beyond exhausted, taking care of two kids on a budget, and not always making the best food choices. After numerous doctors with no relief on the horizon I took my health into my own hands. I have dedicated my last few years to independent research, concentrating on the mind, body, and soul, also receiving certifications in sound healing therapy and Ayurvedic nutrition. Through these practices I’ve almost eliminated seasonal allergies and colds, lost the 20 years of weight I’ve struggled with throughout the years, regained my mental health an clarity, and feel amazing because I have enough energy to keep up with my 7 & 9 year olds! I’ve learned that we truly can heal ourselves through food and positive mindset and I am ecstatic to share my story with you in hopes to inspire others to love themselves enough to do the work and make a change.
Meditation was the first recommendation from my therapist when I took the step to heal and not rely on medicine. Calming the mind and setting your intensions for the day first thing when you wake up is now a necessity for me to be able to tackle the daily challenges of life. The beauty and ease of it is you can do it anytime and anywhere. Taking just a few minutes to focus on your breathe and checking in with yourself is a wonderful, FREE, alternative to calm nerves and ease anxiety. It also promotes better sleep and boosts your immune system!
Did you know there actually is a direct connection between your brain and your gut? The phrase “trust your gut” or “gut instinct” has more behind It. Gut health refers to the overall health and functionality of the digestive system. A healthy gut is essential for proper digestion and nutrient absorption, and it also plays a significant role in maintaining overall health and well-being. The gut is home to trillions of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, collectively known as the gut microbiome. An imbalance in the gut microbiome can lead to various health issues, including digestive problems, weakened immune system, and mental health issues. The American diet, medicine, and alcohol can do a number on your gut destroying the healthy lining and causing things like cravings, cramping, constipation, and malabsorption of nutrients leaving us feeling fatigued, brain fogged, and unmotivated. Therefore, maintaining good gut health is crucial for optimal health and longevity.
